Elevate Your LinkedIn Game: The Secret Weapon of Private Managers (2)

The benefits and practicalities of having a private LinkedIn Manager for a small business owner.

In my previous post we talked about the need for a private LinkedIn Manager. You are conviced, but want to know what this this means in practical terms? This is what I would do for you.

Initial Consultation: We will always begin by discussing goals, target audience, and content preferences. This sets the foundation for a tailored strategy.

Content Collaboration: Next step is for the business owner to provide the manager with topic ideas, industry insights, and key messages to incorporate into LinkedIn posts and articles. We will do a few test runs and regular check-ins to ensure alignment and quality control. How often will be post on LInkedIn? A fixed weekly schedule on a certain day works best for starters, the frequency of which can be increased.

Networking and Engagement: As your private LinkedIn manager, I will need to become your Admin for either just the Company Page or combined with your Personal Profile. This helps to proactively engage with relevant prospects, initiate connections, follow their company pages and follow up on leads.

Using personalized messages on LinkedIn demonstrates genuine interest and facilitate meaningful connections. By following your prospects’ Company Pages your Company Page will be followed back and posts will be available for employees to share in their network.

Monitoring and Reporting: We will agree on a weekly set of hours (min. of 4hrs/wk) and an hour rate to monitor engagement on the posts, respond to comments, and track performance metrics. Regular reports on key metrics such as profile views, engagement rates, and connection growth keep the owner informed of progress. They will be stored in an excel sheet. This can later be upgraded to automatic (paid) tools.

Owner Involvement: While your Private LinkedIn Manager handles day-to-day LinkedIn activities, the business owner is expected to remain involved in high-priority interactions such as client meetings or partnership negotiations. The LinkedIn Manager’s efforts should complement the owner’s personal outreach efforts rather than replace them.

In summary, hiring a private LinkedIn Manager offers small business owners a strategic approach to leveraging the platform for business growth.
By outsourcing time-consuming tasks and tapping into expertise, owners can unlock the full potential of LinkedIn as a powerful tool for networking, brand building, and lead generation.

I’m available to do this strategic networking job for you and help you grow your business. Send me a DM or connect with me on LInkedIn and we can start our talk.

Elevate Your LinkedIn Game: The Secret Weapon of Private Managers (1)

The benefits and practicalities of having a private LinkedIn Manager for a small business owner.

In the midst of a casual conversation with a fellow small business owner, the topic shifted to our LinkedIn profiles. As we exchanged anecdotes about our online presence, it became evident that while I was actively engaged on the platform, my colleague was hesitant to dive in. That’s when the idea of a private LinkedIn manager sparked a discussion that would ultimately revolutionize his approach to networking and business development.

We talked about the benefits as listed below. In my next blog I will talk about the practicalities of hiring a private LinkedIn Manager for your business.

Enhanced Professional Image: Maintaining an active and professional presence on LinkedIn reflects positively on the company. It establishes credibility and trust among potential clients or partners.

Time Efficiency: As a small business owner, time is precious. Delegating LinkedIn management tasks to a dedicated manager frees up valuable time to focus on core business activities like strategy, client meetings, or product development.

Expanded Network: A private LinkedIn manager can strategically grow the owner’s network by connecting with relevant prospects, thereby widening the pool of potential leads and opportunities.

Content Creation: Many small business owners struggle with consistently producing engaging content for LinkedIn. A manager can take on this responsibility, ensuring a steady stream of articles, posts, and updates that align with the company’s goals and values.

Risk Mitigation: Fear of making mistakes or posting inappropriate content can hinder an owner’s willingness to engage on LinkedIn. Having a manager trained in social media etiquette minimizes these risks and ensures professionalism in interactions.

Navigating Career Transitions (3)

When the grind of your current job leaves you yearning for more satisfaction, and you find yourself worn out, for me that’s a clear sign to contemplate your next move.

Five years ago, I stood at this crossroads, bidding farewell to a decade-long career as a freelance media sales powerhouse. My unexpected new destination? A new role as an account manager in the translation sector. The catalyst for this change was not just professional; we had recently purchased a new home in a different region, prompting a somewhat topsy-turvy process of changing residences first and then embarking on a job search in our new locale. Surprisingly, this unconventional approach worked like magic, thanks in no small part to the job platform Indeed.

The decision to leave behind almost two decades in our previous region was driven more by a compelling push for change than a pull from the familiar. Despite the unconventional sequence of events, the relocation and job search aligned seamlessly.

Reflecting on the transition, it proved to be a successful shift from the frenetic pace of media sales to the more serene translation sector. Making the leap from freelance to full-time employment brought with it a host of perks I had missed as an independent professional – paid holidays, pension fund contributions, and paid sick leave, not to mention the opportunity to acquire new skills and further extend my LinkedIn marketing expertise.

With a university bachelor’s degree in English and years of language training, my affinity for the sector was still palpable. However, the notion of becoming an account manager in a language agency hadn’t crossed my mind until then. In the interview rounds, I leveraged my personal branding skills and guidance from a job coach to present my potential employer with a choice: a candidate with sales and social media experience (me) versus someone with deeper knowledge of the translation techniques but lacking the needed sales expertise. The decision was eventually in my favor, given the ease and speed at which they could train me in translation industry specifics.

Fast forward 4.5 years, and it was time to bid adieu to my role. Economic challenges, shifting strategies, and some other personal factors led us to part ways amicably. Despite the negative reasons for leaving, I hold fond memories of my time as an account and sales manager. Now, as I stand at the intersection of past achievements and future possibilities, it’s time to chart my priorities and aspirations. Stay tuned for the next chapter of my career journey!

Well, with over 3 decades of experience in (fte and freelance) media sales and 4.5 years immersed in the language industry, I bring a wealth of expertise to the table. Drawing inspiration from my role as a football/soccer referee, I thrive in dynamic environments where teamwork, leadership, and navigating diverse interests are crucial. Just as on the field, I’m not afraid to step up, organize the game, and lead diverse individuals toward a common goal—whatever the score may be.

Navigating Career Transitions (1)

Navigating career changes – I’ve been through it before, but each new job hunt is still an adventure in itself. And still: embarking on a career change is an exciting journey, but effectively communicating this transition to your network is crucial. Here’s how I strategically navigated the process.

  1. Private Disclosures: Before making any public announcements, I confided in my inner circle to ensure a more personal connection and garner their support.
  2. Strategic LinkedIn Outreach: Leveraging the power of LinkedIn, I began reaching out to my key connections. Choosing the opportune moment during my birthday in late December, I subtly shared the news and sought valuable advice. This personal touch set the tone for a more engaged network.
  3. Profile Optimization: As the new year rolled in, I took the proactive step of updating my LinkedIn profile. Adding a distinctive ring around my profile picture signaling my openness to new opportunities, I signaled the official commencement of my job search.
  4. Network Scoping in January: Recognizing that the second week of January marks the beginning of the business year in many Western countries, I strategically browsed my network connections. I checked their profiles, assuming they would reciprocate the gesture, and took note of their workplace, following relevant companies aligned with my career goals.
  5. LinkedIn Job Preferences and Badges: I ticked the necessary boxes on LinkedIn to indicate my job preferences and actively sought suggestions for job openings. To enhance my professional skills during this transition, I utilized LinkedIn Learning’s free trial month, completing several pertinent courses. Displaying these badges on my profile showcased my commitment to personal development and strengthened my online personal brand.

In my upcoming blogs, I’ll delve into the practical side of job applications, offering a candid look into the highs, lows, and unexpected turns of my career change journey. From triumphs to disappointments, I’ll transparently share the diverse career options on my table, providing valuable insights for anyone navigating a similar path. Stay tuned for a comprehensive exploration of the real, unfiltered experiences that shape this transformative chapter.
